Dashboard settings
Each dashboard has its own settings:
- Time range — relative (last 2 h, last 24 h…) or an absolute from/to window. Charts seed history for this range. An absolute window shows exactly those dates: a dashboard set to 1–7 January keeps showing 1–7 January, however long ago that was — and a window that has already ended gets no live tail, so it never dims as "stale". Changing the range refreshes time-axis line charts in place; other widgets pick the new range up when the dashboard is next opened.
- Refresh interval — how often historical widgets re-pull (live widgets stream regardless).
- Timezone — used by time-based widgets (clocks, chart axes).
- Theme override — force light/dark for this dashboard, or follow the app theme.
- Grid — column count, row height, and gap.
- Variables — station variables that stand in for a fixed device (below).
Time-based and chart widgets honor the dashboard timezone; see also clock & world-clock widgets.
Variables
Add station variable creates a variable — a Name such as station, a Label for the toolbar, and optionally only devices with a given tag, only devices on a given gateway, and a default device. Widgets then bind to ${station} on their Data tab instead of a fixed device, and a station picker in the dashboard toolbar switches every one of them to the station you choose. The choice lives in the page address (?var-station=<device id>), so a link opens on a station without editing the dashboard.
Variables are being rolled out account by account — if the section isn't there, contact support. How to set one up, bind widgets and drill into it from a station list: Fleet views.
